Hazelnut, Coffee and Chocolate Brownies
This very easy recipe combines the delicate flavour of coffee with dark chocolate and hazelnuts.
100 g (1/2 cup) unsalted butter
1/2 cup Nestlé Baking Cocoa
1/4 cup strong Prime Coffee espresso
1 cup white flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup Nutella (chocolate hazelnut spread)
1- Melt butter and chocolate in the microwave (or oven a pan of simmering water) and stir till smooth. Mix in the coffee. Cool slightly.
2- Mix flour and sugar.
3- Whisk the eggs and then add flour/sugar and chocolate mixture. Mix well.
4- Pour brownies mixture into a 20 cm baking tin lined with greaseproof paper.
5- Swirl the Nutella into the brownies. (Don’t try to melt the nutella to make it runny because it cooks instead of softening!)
6- Bake for 25-30 minutes at 180ºC. You can cook your brownies less if you prefer them fudgy rather than cake-like as in the photo.
